Americo B. ZAMPETTI was educated at the University of Rome and The Johns Hopkins University, SAIS, where he studied international economics and international relations. He received his PhD in social sciences from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. In 1999-2000 he was Fulbright Research Scholar at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. His professional experience includes the Italian Trade Commission, the OECD, the European Commission, UNCTAD and the UN Secretariat in New York. Between 2010 and 2015 he was Head of the Economic Section at the European Union Delegation to the United Nations in New York. He is currently minister counsellor at the EU Delegation to the UN in Geneva.
