Since its legal inception in Geneva in September 2015, the IGBA continues to expand its membership, whilst ensuring its main overall objectives for:
- IGBA membership to include local and regional associations from around the globe.
- internationally recognized standards of quality and comparability for generic and biosimilar medicines to be supported by potential members.
- the potential member association to have a membership policy that does not discriminate between local and international manufacturers operating in the market.
- there to be transparency regarding the potential member, including a publicly available list of its membership.
Applicants will also be requested to send a letter of intent indicating the criteria they meet, together with their statutes, membership rules and list of members.
Membership will be subject to acceptance by the Management Committee which may refuse the application without justification. If accepted, the new member will have the status of an Associate Member for at least two (2) years before it can be invited by the Management Committee to become a Full Member.
